Custom Scope
Every project is different. Let's figure out what yours needs.
Some projects do not fit a standard structure. The vision is bigger than a single phase. The timeline needs to flex. The scope is specific or unusual in a way that a packaged service cannot quite hold.
That is what this is for.
If your project is more complex, longer in horizon, or just hard to define right now, we start with a conversation. I ask a lot of questions. You share what you are hoping to accomplish and how you like to work. From there, if it feels like a good fit, we set up a time to meet in person.
I do not quote a fee until I have seen your space, walked through it with you, and reviewed your floor plan, photos, and any plans already in progress. The complexity of a project is something you can only really understand in person. That meeting is not a formality. It is how I make sure I can give you an honest number and a realistic picture of what working together will look like.
Some of my most interesting work has come from exactly these conversations.
What This Might Look Like
A whole-home renovation unfolding over two or three years, room by room.
A project where design direction is needed now, but purchasing and installation come later.
A mix of full-service rooms and rooms where you just need a clear plan to execute yourself.
A vacation home that requires coordinating across distance with trades you are already working with.
A renovation already in motion that needs a designer to step in and bring it together.
There is no formula. That is the point.
How it works.
We start with a phone or video call. You tell me what you are thinking, and I ask questions. If it feels like a promising fit, we schedule an in-person meeting at your home. I look at the space, we talk through the vision in depth, and I get a real sense of the scope.
After that visit, I put together a proposed scope and flat fee. You know exactly what you are committing to before anything starts
Reach out and tell me what you are thinking. Even if you are not sure how to describe it yet, that is a perfectly fine place to start.
“Julie made our Martha's Vineyard vacation home feel like it was always ours. Working with limited time and a sensible budget for a second home, she designed a welcoming palette and created spaces that felt personal to every member of our family. She gave us her best and knew exactly where to invest it. We loved the result so much, she's already designing our primary residence.”
