About Julie
I'm Julie Sautter, and I have been designing homes long enough to know that the best clients are not looking for someone to impose a vision. They are looking for someone who will listen until the vision becomes clear, then have the skill and confidence to bring it to life.
Before interiors, I spent two decades building a fashion and beauty company from the ground up. I appeared on Oprah and The View, sold on QVC, and was featured in Vogue, Forbes, and Marie Claire. I learned what it means to deliver at the highest level, under pressure, for discerning people. That does not leave you. It shows up in how I run a project, how I communicate, and how seriously I take the responsibility of working in someone's home.
I grew up in the Bay Area and have spent my life between California and Europe. Years in Napa Valley and along the California coast shaped my love of organic materials, easy light, and spaces that feel warm rather than formal. Time in Antwerp and Paris gave me something else: a reverence for craftsmanship, for scale, for rooms that feel like they have accumulated over time rather than been assembled all at once. My work lives somewhere between those two sensibilities, and I would not have it any other way.
I have raised three kids, and I know what it means for a home to be beautiful and functional. Those two goals are not in conflict. They are the whole point.
I lead every project personally. I keep my roster intimate on purpose
because I want to be genuinely present in the work. When you work with me, you are working with me. Not a junior designer. Not a project manager. Me. The work is serious. I do not take myself too seriously. And the goal is always the same: a home you love being in, and a process you would do again.
Featured in Vogue, Forbes, Marie Claire, and The Oprah Winfrey Show.
